Why you should mine...
Entropia Universe is to a large extent a "user driven" game.
This means that the majority of commonly used items, such as armor, weapons, tools and other items, are crafted.
To craft an item you will need minerals and blueprints. The miners of Entropia Universe supply the crafters with the minerals needed to craft the various items avalible to the other participants. As a good miner you can earn a lot of cash inside Entropia Universe!
What do you need to mine in Entropia Universe?
Mining in Entropia Universe is one of the professions where you need the least amount of gear to get started, but it is also a profession where you need to know what to do - when.
To mine inside Entropia Universe you basically only need:
- A detonator
- An excavator
- Bombs
How do you mine in Entropia Universe?
Mining inside Entropia Universe is done by equipping your detornator and selecting which types of resources you want to search for.
At the moment you can search for Ores, Enmatters and Treasure.
To search for each type of mineral you will need to add more bombs to be dropped per "click".
This is simply done by selecting which mineral types you are looking for. It is adviced that you only search for enmatter when looking for good mining spots as this type of mineral requieres the lowest amount of bombs to be found.
Once you find a deposit of enmatter, you can select to also search for ore in the same area. Treasure is only avalible on Planet Arkadia.
Different ways of mining inside Entropia Universe
Conservative mining
The best way to keep a steady income is to mine specific places on the various planets. This will usually give you back somewhere between 75% and 90% in Trade Terminal (TT) value of the bombs you have used to mine.
Provided you can sell the minerals to merchants or directly to crafters for a markup of about 120% you will earn on mining.
This is however a very slow way of mining and you should expect to loose money to begin with, simply by probing the different planets for decent mining spots.

If you are sharing your mineral finds with your friends here on Entropia Life, you will also gain access to those peoples mineral finds. This way your mineral area map will be more accurate and you can easily see where which minerals are present inside Entropia Universe.
Go big or go home!
If you are a more aggressive miner, or would like to try for the jackpot, you can try to mine on one of the hotspots where several of the big mineral finds inside Entropia Universe occurs every day.
Typically there is two areas inside Entropia Universe for finding big mineral finds on a regular basis.
Mining both of those places are often done by attaching various kinds of mining amplifiers (Mining amps) to your mining finders which will increase the amount of minerals found.
However, this will also increase the cost of placing bombs. It is ill-adviced to regularly mine with amps on the various planets. If you wanna amp up, go to F.O.M.A or HELL.
